Fire crews have contained a large vegetation fire burning west of Kilkivan.
At 5:00pm on Monday, 10 fire crews were still at the incident, burning near the intersection of McArthur Road and Kilkivan-Tansey Road.
Firefighters were called to the blaze just before 1:00pm on Monday afternoon.
At 2:10pm, QFES issued a Bushfire Advice warning to local residents (see below).
At 4:00pm, a QFES spokesperson said the fire was posing no threat to properties.

At 2:10pm Monday 21 September, a vegetation fire is travelling in a south-easterly direction from near the intersection of McArthur Road and Kilkivan Tansey Road, Kilkivan.
People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.
Properties are not under direct threat at this time. Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe you or your property is under threat.

What You Should Do

- Contact your neighbours to see if they need help preparing for the bushfire.
- Consider finding your essential items (eg. identification documents, prescription medication, food and water, and protective clothing such as a long-sleeved cotton shirt and trousers, and boots) in case you need to leave.
- Consider what you will do to protect your pets and livestock.
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
- Advise family and friends of your intended actions if the situation changes.
