Kingaroy’s Commercial Hotel, on the corner of Haly and Glendon streets, has new owners.
The hotel has been owned by Underdog Hotels Pty Ltd since October 2010.
It is now part of the privately owned Waymark Hotels group.
The Commercial changed hands on April 28 in a sale negotiated by hotel brokers Savills.
“It was the exemplary negotiations and show of good faith between the seller and purchaser that ultimately led to a solution during these unprecedented times, which in turn, allowed settlement to proceed,” a Savills spokesperson said.
“The hospitality landscape has changed significantly over the past few months and through these challenging conditions, Savills Hotels remain committed to assisting all clients and industry participants.”
The Commercial Hotel – which has been promoted locally as The Com.Pub – has 10 accommodation rooms, a commercial kitchen, a gaming room with 20 poker machines, pubTAB facilities plus the public bar, beer garden, function room and drive-through bottle shop.
Waymark Hotels also owns the Redearth Boutique Hotel in Mt Isa, the Coolangatta Hotel on the Gold Coast and the Commercial Hotel-Motel in Chinchilla.
