Kirstie Schumacher … elected for Division 4

There will be at least one new face on the new South Burnett Regional Council with the official declaration on Tuesday evening of a result in the Division 4 poll.

Kirstie Schumacher has been declared the winner by the Electoral Commission of Queensland over incumbent councillor Terry Fleischfresser.

The winners of Division 3 and Division 5 have also been declared, with sitting councillors Danita Potter and Kathy Duff officially returned.

There is still no decision in Division 6, with incumbent Ros Heit still narrowly ahead of Scott Henschen.

There were no contests in Divisions 1 and 2, with Roz Frohloff and Gavin Jones re-elected unopposed.

There is also no declaration yet in the vote for mayor, with challenger Brett Otto still ahead of incumbent Keith Campbell by 583 votes in the First Preference count.
