A motorcycle rider has died after a crash on Memerambi-Barkers Creek Road on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a collision between two motorcycles at 3:40pm.
A QAS spokesperson said paramedics treated one person at the scene for critical injuries. Sadly, that person died.
Another person was treated for lower leg injuries.
A rescue helicopter was despatched to the crash site and landed nearby.
The collision occurred near the intersection of Birch Road at Wattle Camp.
A police spokesperson said preliminary information suggested two male riders were travelling west together along Memerambi-Barkers Creek Road when one of the motorbikes collided with the other.
One of the riders, a man aged in his 70s, suffered significant injuries after coming off his bike and died at the scene.
The other motorcyclist, a 46-year-old man, was not seriously injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Memerambi-Barkers Creek Road was closed to all traffic while investigators attended the scene.
