There’s a new face at Kingaroy Police Station … First Year Constable Tyler Henderson went out on his first job on Tuesday morning.

Constable Henderson, from Ipswich, graduated from the Queensland Police Academy at Oxley last Thursday.

Like all new Queensland police, he will be spending his first 12 months gaining operational experience under the watchful eye of experienced officers.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney, said Constable Henderson would be spending the year in Kingaroy before being assigned somewhere in the South West Police District.

For the first four weeks, Senior Constable Dan Walters will be showing Constable Henderson the ropes before Senior Constable Rob Firman takes over the mentorship for another month.

Snr Sgt Tierney said he expected two more First Year constables to be placed at Kingaroy station in August.
