South Burnett farming families affected by drought have been urged to apply to the Salvos for assistance.
The St Vincent de Paul Society and the Salvation Army have been appointed to distribute $33 million from the Federal Government’s Drought Community Support Initiative to eligible families.
The funding will provide up to $3000 in immediate financial assistance to eligible farming households who are facing hardship due to drought, as well as provide much-needed stimulus to local businesses.
Only one payment is allowed per household.
The two organisations are providing assistance in different parts of Australia.
Families living in the South Burnett, North Burnett, Toowoomba and Somerset areas should apply directly to the:
