Member for Maranoa and Minister for Drought David Littleproud said FarmHub – a one-stop website designed to support farmers – has been expanded with extra information.
FarmHub initially launched as a way for farmers to find out about drought assistance.
However, recently the scope has been enlarged to include climate information and training opportunities.
There are now four separate resources:
- A directory of assistance available to farmers from government and private sources;
- Regional climate guides;
- A learning and development directory; and
- Articles and information relevant to managing a farm business during hardship.
Mr Littleproud said the recent additions to the website had come at a critical time.
“This puts even better drought support information at the fingertips of farmers,” he said.
“FarmHub now contains tailored climate information for specific regions, developed by the Bureau of Meteorology so farmers can manage climate risk.
“We’ve invested $774,000 over three years in this portal so farmers can get the information they need.
“FarmHub is a one-stop-shop helping thousands of people find immediate assistance.
“It has the latest information to help farmers make decisions about sustaining their businesses through the drought.”
FarmHub has been developed by the National Farmers’ Federation using funding from the Federal Government.
