An argument between a group of boys in Cherbourg on Saturday turned potentially deadly when one produced a Stanley knife.
A Murgon police spokesperson said the incident occurred about 7:00pm.
Police will allege a 12-year-old Cherbourg boy produced the small knife from his pocket and slashed at another boy, causing a laceration.
The boy was transported to hospital for treatment.
A short time later, police located the 12-year-old and he was taken into custody.
He will be dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
