Police have not been able to substantiate a complaint that drugs were distributed at a recent Blue Light disco in Kingaroy.

A claim by a local mother that her son had reacted to “acid” was publicised widely on social media.

“Police are aware of allegations relating to illicit substances being distributed amongst juveniles at a community event in Kingaroy on August 30,” an official police response released on Thursday stated.

“Officers attending the event responded immediately to the claims and conducted thorough searches however no evidence of drugs was located.

“Ongoing investigations into the matter by local police have not been able to substantiate the complaint or detect that an offence has occurred at this stage.

“Anyone who may have further information is urged to contact police.”

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney, said he had every confidence in the Blue Light events held in Kingaroy and the wonderful volunteers that organised them.
