UPDATE: Sold out!
The Long Tan movie, “Danger Close”, will be opening in cinemas on August 8 and Kingaroy-Memerambi RSL Sub-Branch has organised a special screening that night for veterans and their families.
Portions of the film were shot last year in the paulownia forest near Wooroolin and the stars attended Anzac Day commemorations in the town.
The Sub-Branch has reserved 75 seats at the Kingaroy Cinema and organised drinks and nibbles at the Kingaroy RSL Club beforehand.
Veterans and their families who would like to take part in this special event should book at the Kingaroy Cinema by August 2 on (07) 4162-2336.
The plan is to gather at the RSL Club at 6:00pm before walking across to the cinema.
Footnote: There’s another South Burnett connection to this movie! Former St Mary’s Catholic College student Tin Truong is an extra, playing an NVA soldier.
