A 13-year-old Murgon boy is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act after a house was broken into in Murgon and a car stolen.

Police allege that about 7:00pm on June 28, thieves gained entry to a residence in Armstrong Street by damaging a lock.

They then stole car keys and a vehicle from the address which police located later that night in Cherbourg.

Investigations are continuing.

Property

  • June 22 – A 15-year-old Murgon boy is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act after windows were broken about 8:00pm at a business in Lamb Street, Murgon.
  • June 23 – A 26-year-old Cherbourg man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on July 16 charged with wilful damage after a window was damaged at a business in Lamb Street about 2:00pm.
  • June 23 – A 26-year-old Cherbourg woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on July 16 charged with stealing. Police will allege she entered a business in Lamb Street and distracted the cashier, removed an item from a shelf, then hid it in a bag.
  • June 24 – Thieves targeted a home in Barber Street, Cherbourg, between 4:00am on June 21 and 9:00am on June 24, gaining entry through a locked door. They removed various personal items.
  • June 24 – A 13-year-old Murgon boy is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act after a window of a vehicle parked in Gore Street, Murgon, was smashed between 5:30pm and 10:00pm. Personal items were also taken from inside.
  • June 24 – A 13-year-old Murgon boy is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act after a brick was thrown through the window of a business in Lamb Street.
  • June 25 – Unknown offender/s entered a residence in Palmer Street, Murgon, between 11:00am and 3:00pm, and stole an item.
  • June 27 – A thief stole several items from a business in Lamb Street about 10:50am.
  • June 28 – A tool was used to break into a vehicle at a home in Cobbo Street, Cherbourg, between 6:00pm on June 28 and 10:00am the next day. The would-be thieves searched the vehicle before departing.
  • June 28 – Thieves broke into a shed in Nutt Street, Murgon, between 5:00pm on June 28 and 8:20pm on June 30, stealing various personal items. Investigations are continuing.

Drugs

  • June 23 – A 23-year-old Maryborough woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on July 16 charged with fail to properly dispose of needle and syringe after police spoke to her in Barber Street, Cherbourg, about 4:55pm.

Traffic

  • June 24 – A 33-year-old Wattle Camp man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 2 charged with drug driving after police stopped a vehicle in Haly Street, Wondai, about 7:30am.

Police from Murgon, Cherbourg and Wondai responded to a variety of incidents between June 21-28 including drug, traffic and property offences. They also attended eight calls related to domestic violence, issued 20 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 149 roadside breath tests.
