Police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from Kingaroy later linked to a break-and-enter in Murgon.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney, said thieves broke into a business in Haly Street, Kingaroy, at some time between 11:00am and 11:00pm on July 12.
They took two sets of car keys and then stole a 2006 Toyota sedan which had been parked at the rear of the premises.
The Toyota was spotted being driven through Wooroolin at 5:00pm.
“The vehicle was subsequently seen at a break-and-enter at a residence on Boat Mountain Road, Murgon at 10:30pm and was located at 11:23pm abandoned in Cherbourg,” Snr Sgt Tierney said.

Six people will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court charged with drug-driving after recent police roadside tests in the Kingaroy area:
- July 1, 8:30am – A 52-year-old Kinleymore man on Redmans Road
- July 1, 10:15am – A 23-year-old Kingaroy man on River Road.
- July 1, 12:05pm – A 25-year-old Kingaroy woman on Haly Street.
- July 6, 8:15pm – A 32-year-old Nanango woman on the D’Aguilar Highway.
- July 7, 8:25am – A 41-year-old Toogoolawah man on Somerset Street.
- July 7, 10:40am – A 33-year-old Taabinga man on Knight Street.

Drugs
- A 28-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 29 charged with drug possession after police stopped a Holden sedan in Doonkuna Street, Kingaroy, about 8:00pm on July 2. Police allegedly located a small amount of marijuana when they searched the vehicle and occupants.
- A 20-year-old Inverlaw man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 19 charged with drug possession after police stopped a Nissan in Baron Street, Kingaroy, at 7:45pm on July 5. Police allegedly located a small amount of cannabis.
- A Kingaroy woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 19 charged with drug possession after police allegedly found her in possession of a small amount of cannabis in Haly Street, Kingaroy, at 8:30pm on July 5.

Kingaroy police responded to a variety of incidents between July 1-7 including animal, fraud, drug, good order, traffic and property-related offences. They also attended five calls related to domestic violence, issued 18 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 78 roadside breath tests.

Bribie Island police reported that on July 5, a 44-year-old Cooyar man was stopped while driving on Sylvan Beach Esplanade at Bellara. He will appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on July 25 charged with drink-driving.
