Centacare will be hosting a “Living Well Longer” free lunch and information session in Kingaroy next week.
Guest speakers will discuss how to plan to “grow older well”.
Ageing is a key issue for the South Burnett.
At the 2016 Census, there were 9779 residents – almost one-in-three people – in the South Burnett local government area aged 60 or over.
Some of the topics to be covered at the information session include:
- The secret to living in your own home longer,
- How to leverage government funding to do more of what you love, and
- Organising help and care – cutting through the complexity.
South Burnett physiotherapist Katie Zerner will be talking about how to prevent falls, manage and mitigate pain, and live independently for as long as possible.
As well, Dalby-Burnett District Crime Prevention co-ordinator Senior Constable Dan O’Hara will be talking about home security and preventing home invasions.
The lunch and information session will run from noon to 2:00pm on Tuesday (June 25) at the Kingaroy RSL Club.
To reserve a place, phone (07) 4162-5096.
