A group of young children who broke into the Boys Dormitory at The Ration Shed historical complex on Saturday afternoon have apologised for their actions.
The children entered the building, which is undergoing extensive renovations, via a boarded up window.
Chairperson Aunty Sandra Morgan said three fire extinguishers were emptied in the Elders Room.
A garden bed was also damaged.
She said it was a sad end to a great day which had included a visit to The Ration Shed by a delegation which included Supreme Court judges and magistrates.
Some of the children involved in the incident were later brought down to The Ration Shed by a family member to apologise.
