A caravan was incinerated during a fire on Chinchilla-Wondai Road at Ballogie on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the blaze, near Okeden Creek, about 4:30pm.
A QFES spokesperson said the van was well alight when firefighters arrived, and the flames had spread to nearby grassland.
Three fire crews – including rural and urban units – attended and had the grass fire contained within 20 minutes.
However, nothing could be done to save the caravan which was totally destroyed.
It is believed the fire started after the caravan jack-knifed and overturned.
Fortunately, the Toyota LandCruiser 4WD which had been towing the van was unhitched before the fire spread.
After the flames were extinguished, fire crews continued to damp down the area.
They then worked to clean up the road and finally left the scene just before 6:00pm.
No one was injured during the incident.
