Unlocked doors, an unsecured shed and an unlocked car feature in the latest crime reports from Murgon, Cherbourg and Wondai police.

In other break-ins, doors were forced, louvres or a flyscreen removed, or windows smashed.

March 16 

  • A 23-year-old Murgon woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on May 14 charged with drug-driving after police stopped a vehicle in Leitch Street, Murgon, about 4:20pm.
  • Two 13-year-old Murgon boys and a 16-year-old Murgon boy were arrested by police after they entered a business on Gore Street, Murgon, by forcing a locked door. They will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
  • A 26-year-old Cherbourg male will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on May 23 charged with shop-stealing after an incident at a business on Lamb Street, Murgon, about 8:10pm.
  • Between 7:30pm on March 16 and 9:00am on March 17, thieves entered an unsecured shed on Cobb Street North, Murgon, and stole various items. Investigations are continuing.
  • A 30-year-old Wondai man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on April 30 charged with drink-driving after police stopped his vehicle about 2:20pm in McIlhatton Street, Wondai, for a roadside breath test.

March 17 

  • About 12:15am, thieves stole entered a house in Harm Street, Murgon, through an unsecured door and stole personal items. Investigations are continuing.

March 18 

  • Between 12:15am and 12:25am, a thief entered a house in Marshall Street, Cherbourg via an unsecured door and stole various items. Investigations are continuing.
  • Between 7:00am on March 18 and 11:15am on March 25, a window was forced open at a property on Perkins Street, Murgon.

March 20 

  • Between 7:00am and 3:00pm, a boy smashed a window to gain entry to a house in Macalister Street, Murgon. He then stole various items. A 13-year-old Murgon boy will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

Investigations are continuing into the following incidents:

  • About 6:00pm, youths threw an unknown item at a vehicle in Lamb Street, Murgon.
  • Between 9:30pm and 10:00pm, a thief entered a house in Baynes Street, Wondai, through an unsecured door. Various personal items were stolen.
  • Between 8:30pm and 9:10pm, a thief entered a house on Cadell Street, Wondai, via an unsecured door. Personal items were stolen.
  • Between 8:30am and 6:00pm, thieves forced a door to enter a house in Scott Street, Wondai. Various items were stolen.
  • Between 6:00pm on March 20 and 8:00am on March 22, thieves removed a flyscreen to gain entry to a house in Cadell Street, Wondai. Personal items were stolen.

March 21 

  • About 4:30pm, a youth threw a rock at a bus on Gore Street, Murgon, causing damage. An 11-year-old Murgon boy will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
  • Between 7:00am and 3:00pm, a thief forced a window to a house in Macalister Street, Murgon, and removed various items. A 13-year-old Murgon boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Investigations are continuing into the following incidents:

  • Between 1:30pm and 7:30pm, a thief used a tool to cut a bike lock and steal a bicycle from a house on Smyth Street, Murgon.
  • Between 4:30pm and 7:00pm, unknown offenders removed window louvres at a house on Webster Street, Murgon however they did not appear to have gained entry.
  • Between 10:30pm on March 21 and 7:30am on March 22, thieves removed items from outside a property in Krebs Street, Murgon.

March 22 

  • About noon, thieves entered an unlocked vehicle in McLucas Street, Murgon, and located keys in the ignition. They then stole the vehicle which was later located in Murgon. Investigations are continuing.

Officers from Murgon, Cherbourg and Wondai responded to a variety of incidents between March 15-22 including drug, traffic and property offences. Police also attended 15 calls related to domestic violence incidents, issued three infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 26 roadside breath tests.
