Police have seized cannabis with an estimated street value of $1.5 million during raids across the South Burnett, North Burnett, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast areas this week.
Eight search warrants were executed in the South Burnett targeting drugs, weapons and other drug-related items.
In Kingaroy, police – acting on a tip – searched a property in Arthur Street at 8:40am on Thursday.
As a result, a 46-year-old Kingaroy woman will face 95 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, two counts of possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with drugs, and one count each of trafficking, drug possession, possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying, and possessing items used in the commission of a crime.
On Tuesday, police searched a property in Majors Road at South Nanango where they allegedly found a small amount of cannabis, cannabis plants and drug utensils.
A 26-year-old man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 5 charged with producing dangerous drugs as well as possessing drugs, drug utensils and items used in the commission of crime.
On the same day, police executed a warrant in Kingaroy Street where they allegedly located a hydroponic set-up, drug utensils and a Category M weapon.
A 30-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 20 charged with producing dangerous drugs as well as possessing drugs, drug utensils, items used in the commission of crime and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Also on Tuesday, police searched a property in Shellytop Road at Durong. A 41-year-old man and 39-year-old man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 5 charged with possessing dangerous drugs (cannabis) and drug utensils.
The South Burnett raids involved officers from Kingaroy CIB, the Burnett Tactical Action team and the Major and Organised Crime Squad.
They were part of a wider investigation, dubbed “Operation Oaky”, during which police executed 31 search warrants across three days at locations across the South Burnett, North Burnett, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast.
It will be alleged police located a total of 570 cannabis plants; at one property at Curra, north of Gympie, police allegedly found 325 plants.
Officers also allegedly located quantities of LSD and mushrooms and a shortened shotgun at an address in Connondale.
A total of 29 people have been charged with 67 offences.
