UPDATE 6:oopm – Both grassfires are now extinguished but firefighters will continue to monitor the areas.
Earlier, at 4:15pm, Monday:
Six rural fire crews are currently on scene – and another six on the way – at a grass fire burning near Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road in the Sandy Ridges area.
The fire, which was reported about 2:45pm, is burning in the vicinity of Wattle Camp Road and Glenmore Road.
Motorists in the area should drive with caution as smoke may be affecting local roads.
Firefighters were also called on Monday afternoon to a fire burning near Spencers Road and East Wooroolin Road at Corndale.
This fire broke out about 3:00pm.
At 4:10pm, four fire crews were on the scene.
