The organisers of Kingaroy’s annual Community Christmas Lunch would like to thank all the sponsors and volunteers who ensured the 2018 event went smoothly.

The Salvation Army community event is organised by a small committee which consists of volunteers from the Salvation Army, South Burnett CTC, the South Burnett Times and South Burnett Online.

About 130 people enjoyed a roast dinner and dessert prepared and served by volunteers on December 25 at SBcare’s centre in Avoca Street.

Many community groups and local businesses contributed to the day’s success.

These included: Kingaroy Lions Club, Kingaroy Rotary Club, Taabinga Rotary Club, Kingaroy Quota, SBcare, Kingaroy Senior Citizen’s Club and Brumby’s Bakery.

The volunteers who assisted on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day were also invaluable, especially chef Jo Hillman and kitchen volunteer Graham Taylor.

Planning for the 2019 event has already begun.
