Former Broncos star Shane Webcke will be the special guest speaker at a free Health Expo to be held at Murgon PCYC on February 21.
The “Focus on You” event has a theme of “safety” – safety at home, at work and online.
It’s being organised by the Murgon Area Community Health Nurses and is being supported by a number of local organisations, including South Burnett Regional Council.
As well as being a rugby league legend and sports presenter, Shane is Queensland’s Safety Ambassador.
He has a strong commitment to workplace safety as his father was killed in a workplace incident.
“I know first-hand that family and loved ones are the most important reason for work safety,” he said.
The “Focus on You” night will begin at 5:00pm.
There’ll be trade stalls to explore and Murgon Men’s Shed will be doing a barbecue.
Murgon Hospital Auxiliary volunteers will be proving tea and coffee.
As well as the talk by Shane Webcke, there’ll be a kitchen fire demonstration by the local fire brigade and guest speakers discussing safety in the home, injury prevention and management, medication safety and cyber safety.
