Rumours of a large brawl outside a Kingaroy hotel in the early hours of Saturday morning have been widely exaggerated.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said that about 1:15am on Saturday, police were called to a disturbance in Haly Street.
“Two males had been assaulted and were transported to Kingaroy Hospital,” he said.
“Police are still making inquiries but at this time neither of the men that were assaulted have indicated they wish the matters to be taken any further by police at this time.”

Kingaroy Police were called to a house in Edward Street, Kingaroy, on Sunday afternoon after reports someone was breaking into a residence.
When police arrived, they allegedly saw a 22-year-old Kingaroy woman run from a rear outhouse at the address.
“After a short foot chase, the woman was arrested,” Snr Sgt Tierney said.
The woman was due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates on Monday afternoon charged with three counts of entering premises as well as stealing from a vehicle, possession of a restricted drug, trespass and obstruction of police.
