A would-be thief wearing a hockey mask sprayed paint on a security camera during a botched robbery attempt in Kingaroy last Friday.
About 4:10am, the middle-aged man unsuccessfully attempted to pry open a change machine at a business in Youngman Street.
After spraying paint on the camera, he removed his mask.
Kingaroy police are searching for a slim man aged 50-55, with a scruffy grey beard and short hair, wearing a green rain vest, black pants and thongs.

Police are investigating the theft of a Davey pressure pump from a local government building in Haly Street, Kingaroy The offence occurred overnight on November 26-27. The thieves damaged a security cage before stealing the pump.

An iPhone was pocketed by a thief at a hotel in Haly Street, Kingaroy, on Tuesday night. The offence occurred when the owner left the phone beside a poker machine while they bought drinks.

The owner of a Falcon ute parked in Markwell Street, Kingaroy, had an unpleasant surprise when he returned to his vehicle after work last Tuesday evening. A dead bird had been placed in the tray and the vehicle had been keyed along the driver’s side.

Thieves broke into a church in Alford Street, Kingaroy, and stole electrical equipment at some time between 7:30pm on November 25 and 8:00am on December 1. Entry was gained through an insecure window.

Between noon on November 29 and 5:00pm on November 30, thieves broke into a community organisation’s office in Mary Street, Kingaroy. The offenders searched through the office before taking keys to a vehicle. They then stole a 2016 white Toyota Corolla, (rego 990-WHH). The stolen vehicle is still missing.

On November 27, police attended a house in Alford Street, Kingaroy, in relation to a separate investigation. While there, they allegedly located drug utensils in the possession of a 22-year-old Murgon man. He will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on December 17 charged with possessing a drug utensil.

Three people have been charged with drug driving after being stopped by police in Kingaroy for roadside tests in separate incidents:
- A 33-year-old Cherbourg woman driving a Ford utility on the Bunya Highway,
- A 26-year-old Memerambi man driving a Toyota station wagon on Jarrah Street, and
- A 27-year-old Kingaroy man driving a Hyundai station wagon on Haly Street.
All three will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court in January.

Kingaroy Police responded to a variety of incidents between November 26 – December 2, including drug, traffic and property-related offences.
They also attended eight calls related to domestic violence, issued 19 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 42 roadside breath tests.
