Arts Portfolio chair Cr Danita Potter is inviting the region’s artists to have a say on the development of the arts, cultural and creative sector in Queensland over the next 10 years

The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding a consultation forum next month to discuss the future of the arts and creativity in Queensland.

The forum is being held on behalf Arts Queensland in response to the State Government’s discussion paper “Creating Queensland’s Future: A 10-Year Roadmap For The Arts, Cultural and Creative Sector”.

The discussion paper includes a draft vision and asks Queenslanders to consider how the arts, cultural and creative sector can address the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Arts portfolio chair Cr Danita Potter said the Council is asking the region’s arts organisations, groups, associations and individuals to share their insights and views on the topic.

Feedback collected through the consultation process will inform the development of a 10-Year Roadmap, strategic action planning and Queensland Government investment in the arts, cultural and creative sector.

The consultation process is also being supported by a website which provides the opportunity to engage in a survey or lodge a submission.

The consultation forum will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall Supper Room on Tuesday, December 11, between 3:30pm and 6:30pm.

RSVPs would be appreciated for catering purposes, and can be made by email.

The consultation period will close at 5:00pm on Tuesday, December 18.
