A man has been arrested after he allegedly bashed another man with a baseball bat outside Kingaroy Police Station on Saturday night.

Police were alerted to the disturbance about 7:00pm.

Officer-in-Charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said a fight had broken out between family members over ongoing issues.

They had travelled to the Police Station station to report the matters when the disturbance occurred.

Police will allege that during the disturbance a 27-year-old Booie man took a baseball bat from a vehicle and struck another male in the head.

This man suffered significant facial injuries, including a broken jaw and the loss of several teeth.

The 27-year-old was arrested and will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on December 3 charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm.
