The popular “Blue Edge” program has returned to the South Burnett PCYC at Murgon.

Blue Edge is designed by Blue Light and aims to enhance the lives of youths under the age of 18.

The program, which ran at the PCYC earlier this year, encourages young people to achieve their potential by fostering positive relationships with their family, teachers, local police and community.

It fosters leadership, self-esteem, mutual respect and shared responsibilities by showing young people they can take control of their own lives and make smart choices now and into the future.

This week 21 girls aged from 13 to 17 from Murgon State High School began the program by attending the PCYC.

Senior Constable Danielle Gordon said it was a wonderful turnout from all of the girls involved.

Volunteer Bevan Routledge and local Police Liaison Officers put together a morning breakfast spread for the girls.

The girls will now continue through the program and develop their personal skills with the help of Blue Light and Murgon Police.
