The Red Earth Community Foundation held an information night in Kingaroy recently for people interested in taking part in the 2019 South Burnett Community Leadership Program.

The program has been running for six years, and there is now an alumni network of more than 100 people who have graduated.

In 2019, 23 places will be offered, with entries already accepted from both the South and North Burnett areas.

The program will be run across two sessions at the Bunya Mountains: February 10-12 and March 10-12.

The residential sessions are designed to develop leadership skills and provide the attendees with practical tools to use in everyday situations for work, business and family life.

Pam McAllister, from Vision 21 which runs the program, said the support does not end afterwards, either.

Every year two full-day alumni workshops are held so program graduates can continue learning.

“There is no barrier to age, gender or background,” Pam said.

There are also sponsorships available for people who cannot cover the full cost of the enrolment fee.
