Kingaroy Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery which occurred in Glendon Street on Tuesday afternoon.
A 60-year-old Kingaroy woman left a local hotel about 4:30pm and entered her vehicle.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said a man entered the woman’s vehicle and threatened to stab her with a syringe unless she handed over money.
“The woman refused and exited the vehicle and walked back towards the licensed premises,” Snr Sgt Tierney said.
The man then ran off.
He was wearing black shorts, a black hoodie with a white motif on the front and rear, black thongs, dark cap and sunglasses with a blue hue to lenses.
Investigations are continuing.
