Murgon and Cherbourg faced off in the 2017 A Grade Grand Final … on Saturday they’ll be playing to stay alive in the 2018 competition

There’s a big day of rugby league action happening at Cherbourg’s Jack O’Chin Oval on Saturday with major and minor semi-finals being played in all grades.

The season will be over for the losers of the Minor Semis, while the winners will live again to contest the Preliminary Finals on September 1 in Gayndah (U12s, U14s, U16s) and Kingaroy (A Grade).

The winners of the Major Semis will book themselves a spot in the Grand Finals, which will be played at Nanango on September 8.

Gate entry is $5 all day.

  • 9:00am – U12 – Kingaroy v Nanango (winner to Preliminary Final)
  • 10:00am – U12 – Murgon v Cherbourg (winner to Grand Final, loser to Preliminary Final)
  • 11:00am – U14 – Murgon v Central Burnett (winner to Preliminary Final)
  • 12:10pm – U14 – Kingaroy v Chinchilla (winner to Grand Final, loser to Preliminary Final)
  • 1:20pm – U16 – Murgon v Kingaroy (winner to Preliminary Final)
  • 2:35pm – U16 – Nanango v Chinchilla (winner to Grand Final, loser to Preliminary Final)
  • 4:00pm – A Grade – Cherbourg v Murgon (winner to Preliminary Final)
  • 5:30pm – A Grade – Nanango v Kingaroy (winner to Grand Final, loser to Preliminary Final)

The South Burnett Eagles U16 Girls will be playing in the Preliminary Final of the Sunshine Coast women’s competition on Saturday in Maroochydore against Nambour/Noosa at 2:20pm.
