Nanango’s new United Service Station opened for business on Monday after a major redevelopment that has doubled the number of bowsers and modernised the station’s facilities

Nanango’s updated United Petroleum service station opened on Monday after several months of construction.

The corner of Alfred Street and the D’Aguilar Highway has been the home of a much smaller petrol station and mechanical workshop for many years.

At its April 2017 meeting, the South Burnett Regional Council granted United Petroleum development approval to upgrade the facility.

The old building, which formerly housed a garage and mechanical workshop, was demolished.

The new petrol station has doubled its number of bowsers; expanded the site’s entries so it can be used by trucks; and upgraded the service area to
incorporate a pie shop and ATM, along with seven customer car parking bays.

On Monday, the service station was selling unleaded e10, normal unleaded and diesel fuel almost 10c per litre below Kingaroy prices.

Footnote: southburnett.com.au attempted to find out more information about the business – including the trading hours – but the person on site referred us to the company’s official spokesperson in Melbourne who was unable to respond by our deadline.
