One person has died – and another has been taken to Murgon Hospital with minor injuries – after a collision involving two trucks and another vehicle on the Burnett Highway, 8km north of Tansey, on Monday evening.
The incident occurred about 4:45pm.
Ambulance paramedics treated three people at the scene, but only one required transport to hospital.
The highway has been closed in both directions.
At 5:30pm, police advised motorists to seek an alternative route as the highway between Goomeri and Ban Ban Springs would be closed for “some time”.
The Forensic Crash Unit has been despatched from Gympie to the incident.
