The Nanango Race Club will be holding its popular Easter Race Meeting at the Lee Park Raceway on Saturday.
The club’s Easter meeting always attracts a big crowd, but this year’s will be extra-special because it marks the 50th year since racing returned to Lee Park.
The meeting’s theme is “Pink Glamour and Bonnets” and guests are encouraged to dress up in their best pink outfits or accessories to be in the running for Moffatdale Ridge Fashions Of The Field spot prizes.
Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff will be presenting the most glamorous woman on the field with a hand-crafted silver bracelet, and all Saturday’s ticket-holders will go into a draw for the chance to win a two-night stay at The Bunyas in the heart of the Bunya Mountains.
The club’s popular Champagne@the Bit bar will be running all day and there’ll also be a licensed bar and barbecue, canteen, bookies and an on-course tote, along with free face-painting for children.
Buses will be running from Kingaroy’s Glendon Street Bus Depot at noon, and the rear of Nanango’s Fitzroy Hotel at 12:25pm
Gates will open at the track at 10:00am and the first of the day’s six races will leave the barriers at 12:45pm.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners (under-15s are free).
The meeting is being sponsored by Wellcamp Fabrications, Pursers Buses, McDonalds Kingaroy, Heritage Nanango, IGA Nanango and The Bunyas.
