The newly formed South Burnett United soccer team will play their first game in the Toowoomba Football League’s reserve grade Championship competition on Sunday (March 4).
This is the first time a united South Burnett team has competed in the tough Toowoomba league.
SB United will face USQ Championship Men at Toara Park in Baker Street, Toowoomba; kick-off is at 1:00pm.
The boys should be feeling confident after playing a trial match against the Chinchilla Bears in Kingaroy on Saturday.
They defeated the visitors 7-1, scoring five goals in the first half and two in the second.
However, USQ won’t be an easy team to defeat as they are one of the stronger units in the Toowoomba competition.
The South Burnett United squad is being coached by former Nanango Panthers men’s coach Lauren Mangan and player/coach Kieran Askin.
It consists of Kieran Mangan, Hayden Steene, Riley Cook, Joseph Copas, Harry Sterling, David Ashby, Jordan Hetherington, Jackson Kelly, Ethan Schultz, Kyron Tunstall, Anuwat Silat, Luke Dobe, Zac Logan, Adne Ingbretsen and Kieran Askin.
