All the recent rain hasn’t bothered the kids at Nanango’s St Patrick’s Primary School now that they have somewhere high and dry to eat.
Six new picnic tables for the eating area were sponsored by the 2017 Heritage Nanango Community Funding program and St Patrick’s Parents and Friends Association.
The steel and hardwood picnic tables were locally manufactured and have been standing up well to constant use by the children.
St Patricks’s P&F President Helen Mead said the tables were a welcome addition to the undercover eating area.
“Until now the children have had very limited seating, with most sitting on the concrete to eat their lunch” Mrs Mead said.
“The school also hosts events in this area throughout the year, and the picnic tables were the final things we needed to turn the area into a great gathering place for the school community.
“We’re very appreciative of Heritage Bank Nanango’s support.
“It’s great to see local organisations working together towards a positive outcome for our school and community.”
