The South Burnett Regional Council will organise waste collection from Clean Up Australia Day activities on Sunday, March 4 if they are notified about them before the weekend.
“Clean Up Australia Day is an opportunity to bring family, friends, neighbours and colleagues together and take action to protect our environment by removing rubbish before it damages our parks, bushland and waterways,” Cr Roz Frohloff said.
“All you have to do is register your location, grab your volunteers and have fun on the day.”
Online registrations are now open at cleanupaustraliaday.org.au.
Alternatively, you can join a registered site to help clean up Australia.
“This year Council hasn’t nominated a Council collection site, but if you contact Council on (07) 4189-9100 before the weekend, a waste collection service can be arranged for Monday, March 5 to collect full Clean Up Australia Day bags from registered sites,” Cr Frohloff said.
“Groups and individuals can also take the full Clean Up Australia Day bags to any of Council’s waste facilities for free disposal.
“I would like to encourage everyone to register and join in the fun on Sunday to help keep Australia beautiful.
“If we all chip in and take some time out of our day to help in our local area, amazing results can be achieved in a short amount of time.”
