FLAAHBACK: Fiona Collins, Hospitality teacher Jason Ford, Jackie Tidmarsh and Jacob Bundrock inspecting some pavlovas … the Kingaroy TAFE’s Taabinga Room Training Restaurant will be offering the public low-cost lunches every Wednesday through to mid-June

February 27, 2018

Hospitality students at Kingaroy’s TAFE have been working hard over the past few weeks preparing lunch menus at the college’s Taabinga Room Training Restaurant as part of their training.

The students are being guided by local chef Jason Ford in all aspects of restaurant functions.

The lunches are open to the public and always prove popular, however bookings are essential.

The current round will each Wednesday from February 28 through to June 13, with a two-week Easter break in the first two weeks of April, between noon and 1:30pm.

This week’s offerings will be a set menu of three courses – an entree of Thai red chicken curry on a bed of steamed jasmine rice for $4; a grilled rib fillet with sweet potato chips and salad as a $7 main course; and peanut and buttermilk panna cotta for a $4 dessert.

Other lunches will offer either buffets or a la carte dining.

The Taabinga Room Restaurant is fully licensed but a variety of mocktails are also available.

The TAFE College appreciates public support for their aspiring chefs.

The restaurant atmosphere gives the students valuable hands-on experience as they progress through their studies.

To book, contact the TAFE on (07) 4160-4410.
