The NDIS will be running workshops in Nanango, Kingaroy and Murgon on March 6-8 to help participants and support co-ordinators prepare for the introduction of the NDIS on July 1

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will be rolling out in the South Burnett on July 1 and there’s more workshops planned to get people ready for it.

The National Disability Insurance Agency will be presenting four workshops in Nanango, Kingaroy and Murgon on March 6-8.

The workshops will show participants how they can best prepare for their first NDIS planning conversation, and will explore what is included in a participant’s NDIS plan.

The workshops will be held at these locations:

Tuesday, March 6
Nanango Cultural Centre, 1:00pm–3:00pm
Corner of Drayton and Henry Street, Nanango

Wednesday, March 7
Kingaroy Town Hall Reception Room, 10:00am–12:00pm and 5:00pm-7:00pm
45 Glendon Street, Kingaroy

Thursday, March 8
Murgon PCYC, 10:00am–12:00pm
40 Macalister Street, Murgon

A separate workshop for support co-ordinators will also be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall Reception Room on Wednesday, March 7, between 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

This workshop will explain a support co-ordinator’s role in building the capacity of NDIS participants to exercise choice and control when implementing plans, connecting to community and assisting to select services.

Service providers who are registered to provide support co-ordination, or anyone interested in providing this service, are encouraged to attend.
