Senior Rugby League will be back in action in the South Burnett this weekend with a number of pre-season trial games scheduled.
In Kingaroy, the Red Ants will take on Brisbane side Bulimba on Saturday night from 6:00pm at T.J. O’Neill Oval.
Gates will open at 5:00pm and there will be a $2 adult entry cost.
The clubhouse bar and canteen will be open.
At Nanango’s Fred Kassulke Oval, the Stags will play a trial match against Stanley Rivers, from Woodford, with kick-off at 6:30pm.
There will be a barbecue operating and the licensed bar will be open.
2017 South Burnett premiers, the Murgon Mustangs, will be heading north for a trial match against 2017 Central Burnett premiers, the Gayndah Gladiators.
Kick-off will be at 7:00pm at the Gayndah Sports Grounds and the bar and canteen will be operating.
Round 1 of the 2018 South Burnett Rugby League season junior season will get under way on March 10.
Round 1 of the Seniors will be played on April 7, but all teams will also be in action on March 10 at Nanango in a round robin to select the representative South Burnett team.
UPDATE February 23: The trial matches to be played in Nanango and Kingaroy have been cancelled due to the weather.
