Donations to LifeFlight by the New Hope Group – the company that operates the New Acland coal mine – have now topped $1 million.

LifeFlight announced on Friday that New Hope had donated more than $1.1 million to the LifeFlight Foundation over the past six years.

LifeFlight Foundation CEO Leanne Angel said New Hope’s support had made a real difference to hundreds of Queenslanders.

“Each of our rescue missions cost in excess of $12,500 so we rely heavily on our corporate partners and dedicated community members to keep our helicopters in the air and saving lives,” Ms Angel said.

“Beyond supporting some of our operational costs, like aircraft maintenance and fuel, New Hope has partnered with us to help prevent accidents and improve health and safety in the communities around New Acland Mine.”
