A 20-year-old Yarraman woman has been charged after a safe, allegedly stolen from Redcliffe, was located in the Yarraman State Forest last week.

On Friday, Kingaroy police intercepted a vehicle on the D’Aguilar Highway at Hodgeleigh allegedly travelling at 150km/h in the 100km/h zone.

Senior Sergeant David Tierney, officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, said that further investigations into the driver led to the execution of a search warrant at the driver’s address in Yarraman on Monday.

Police allegedly recovered cash and alcohol that had been stolen from an Anzac Avenue business in Redcliffe on January 31.

A safe that had also been allegedly stolen was located in the Yarraman State Forest.

The woman has been charged with entering premises and committing an indictable offence and will appear in the Nanango Magistrates Court on March 1.

She was also issued with a traffic notice for high end speeding and fined $1177 with her license suspended for six months and the loss of eight demerit points.

A man suffered injuries in a two-car collision on the Bunya Highway on the outskirts of Murgon on Sunday evening.

A Subaru sedan and a Nissan Patrol ute collided about 5:15pm opposite the BP Roadhouse.
