Do you know a local business, community organisation, educational institutions or council who are taking positive steps towards reconciliation and closing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Queenslanders?
Then nominate them (or yourself) to be in the running for a share of $25,000 in prize money.
The annual Queensland Reconciliation Awards, now in their 15th year, provide an opportunity to recognise and support the efforts of people working towards a more inclusive state.
They are sponsored by the Queensland Government, ABC Radio, the Koori Mail and BHP Billiton across four categories: business, community, education and partnership.
“These awards are not only about honouring our history, but about recognising initiatives that build real connections and shift perspectives to create positive change for all,” Reconciliation Awards ambassador Jonathan Thurston said.
“Together we can make a difference for all Australians.”
Nominations for the 2018 awards will close at 5:00pm on Monday, February 26.
Recipients will be announced at an awards ceremony held during National Reconciliation Week (May 27-June 3).
