Toowoomba Regional Council has unveiled an online Honour Board for Australia Day award recipients, but needs help from local residents to fill in some of the gaps.
Cr Mike Williams said on Australia Day, communities recognised the amazing residents who had contributed so much to the Toowoomba Regional Council area.
“It is only fitting that these achievements of years gone by are remembered through the Honour Board,” he said.
“The challenge is that we need the help of the community to fill a few gaps in the data.
“We want to make sure that those outstanding community members who have been recognised in the past for their amazing work can be found in a place of honour and have their efforts forever recognised.
“At the moment we have a reasonably comprehensive list dating back to the early 1980s, however if there is anyone in the community who can help us with updating the past award winners we would be happy to hear from them.
“If you can help complete the puzzle, we encourage you to send an email to australiaday@tr.qld.gov.au “

Congratulations TRC on seeking to record all past recipients of Australia Day Awards in an online format.
SBRC has such a facility that records recipients since 2009 on an annual page by page basis but nothing prior to honour the recipients from the Shires that made up SBRC.
