Movers and shakers in the South Burnett are being sought to join the committee overseeing Regional Development Australia in the Wide Bay Burnett region.
The Regional Development Australia (RDA) network was established by the Federal Government and consists of regional committees across Australia.
They aim to bring together all levels of government to enhance regional development.
The South Burnett is covered by RDA Wide Bay Burnett.
“This is a great opportunity for people within the community who care about the Wide Bay Burnett region to step forward and commit to making decisions about our future,” RDA Wide Bay Burnett chairman Bill Trevor said.
Interested community members should submit an Expression of Interest by Wednesday, January 31.
Current RDA Wide Bay Burnett members are Bundaberg Deputy Mayor Bill Trevor, Hervey Bay businessman Daniel Poacher, Gympie Mayor Mick Curran, Durong grazier Georgie Somerset, Bundaberg businesswoman and macadamia grower Janelle Gerry, Maryborough businesswoman and former MP Anne Maddern, Gympie businessman Kerren Smith and Biggenden businesswoman and cattle breeder Stephanie Whitaker.
