A Goomeri resident received a surprise phone call from police this week when they rang to say his vehicle had been stolen and found in a ditch.
The vehicle had been left secured in a locked garage in Hodge Street, Goomeri.
Gympie Police said an offender or offenders forced their way into the garage in the early hours of January 16 and located keys that had been stored near the vehicle.
Investigations are continuing.

National Parks and Wildlife employees are monitoring a fire which has been burning in the Wondai State Forest since last Tuesday.
QFES has warned that smoke from the fire may cause a hazard, so motorists in the Charlestown area have been warned to drive with caution.

On Friday morning, ambulance paramedics transported a patient from Ballogie to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition following a reported snake bite.

On Tuesday morning, a man was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital after a single-vehicle crash on the D’Aguilar Highway at Nanango.
QFES personnel assisted the man from the vehicle, which had rolled over.

Nanango Police are investigating a break-in which occurred in Appin Street overnight on January 10.
The thieves damaged property and stole several items.
