The badly damaged Nissan ute beside Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road on Tuesday morning

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a distinctive Nissan ute ending up in a drain beside Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road.

The ute was located in the early hours of Tuesday morning, but there was no one with the vehicle when police arrived.

It appears as if the vehicle has left the road and crashed into a concrete support for the drain.

Investigations are continuing in a bid to find out who the driver was at the time of the incident.

Kingaroy Police said the vehicle had not been reported stolen.

Two patients with very minor injuries were assessed by ambulance paramedics after a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of King Street and Nanango-Tarong Road on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 4:59am.

The two people were transported to Nanango Hospital.

A 36-year-old woman from Miles will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on December 18 after being stopped by police while driving through Kumbia on Tuesday.

Senior Constable Jade Miller, from the Kingaroy Road Policing Unit, said the woman tested positive for methamphetamine.

A search of her vehicle also allegedly located a small quantity of cannabis.
