Nanango Under 16s celebrate after scoring a try against the Red Ants … the young Stags finished on top of the U16s points table

South Burnett Rugby League semi-finals for both juniors and seniors will be played this Saturday.

Junior games – U12s, U14s and U16s – will be played in Gayndah, while the two A Grade games will be played at the Jack O’Chin Oval in Cherbourg.

The winners of the Major Semi-Finals will go straight through to the Grand Finals.

The losers of the Major Semi-Finals will play the winners of the sudden-death Minor Semi-Finals. These Preliminary Finals will be played on September 2 at Nanango to determine the second spot in the Grand Final.

All Grand Finals will be played on September 9 in Wondai.

A Grade – at Cherbourg

Cherbourg and Murgon both finished on equal points after 15 rounds of competition, but Cherbourg were officially minor premiers after finishing ahead on for and against.

  • 6:00pm – Minor Semi-Final – Nanango v Kingaroy
  • 7:30pm – Major Semi-Final – Cherbourg v Murgon

  • 9:15am – Minor Semi-Final – Nanango v Kingaroy
  • 10:15am – Major Semi-Final – Murgon v Cherbourg

Under 14s

  • 11:15am – Minor Semi-Final – Murgon v Central Burnett
  • 12:30pm – Major Semi-Final – Chinchilla v Kingaroy

Under 16s (Entry to the ground is $5)

  • 1:45pm – Minor Semi-Final – Kingaroy v Chinchilla
  • 3:00pm – Major Semi-Final – Nanango v Cherbourg
