The deadline for community groups to seek funding from Round 3 of the Stronger Communities Program (SCP) has been extended.
Community organisations including councils and incorporated not for profit community service and sporting groups now have until Friday, August 11 to submit project proposals for grants of between $2,500 and $20,000.
Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien said on Monday that up to $150,000 is available to support small capital projects.
Eligible projects must be supported by matching cash or in-kind contributions from other sources.
Mr O’Brien said the SCP deadline had been extended due to its popularity, and it was a great opportunity for organisations to seek funding to improve their facilities and strengthen their local communities.
Organisations should consult the SCP guidelines and the frequently asked questions on the website to determine eligibility.
Applications will be prioritised by a local Stronger Communities Program committee and assessed against the SCP guidelines to ensure that project proposals offer value for money.
For further information, contact Mr O’Brien’s electorate office on (07) 4121 2936.
SCP project proposals should be submitted by email to Llew.OBrien.MP@aph.gov.au by Friday, August 11.
Previous rounds of the SCP delivered funding to a range of community groups that has assisted with projects such as renovations, new sheds, new vehicles, sports ground lighting, playground equipment, new kitchens, technology upgrades, broadcasting equipment, car parks and audio-visual equipment.
