Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is warning businesses to be wary of a man who has been poising as a WHSQ employee.
The man has been telephoning businesses, requesting payment for an advertisement placed in a WHS publication.
In a twist to the usual “blower” false billing scam, the man threatens a “safety audit” if payment isn’t made for the alleged advertisement.
“This person is in no way affiliated with WHSQ and we are taking this matter very seriously,” a WHSQ spokesperson said,
