A South Burnett-designed marketing tool which could revolutionise car yards around the Australia has made its debut in Kingaroy.
Michael Magnussen, from Access Innovations, designed the patent-pending Sales Spinner which is now in action at Ken Mills Toyota on the Bunya Highway.
The Sales Spinner is currently displaying a HiLux dual-cab ute, but is also designed to take caravans or boats up to 3.8 tonnes.
The Sales Spinner comes as a complete unit and can be delivered to a car yard on the back of a truck.
Once on site, it is levelled and then plugged into a power point to start working.
The vehicle is loaded using built-in ramps, much like driving on to a workshop hoist, and then lifted to the desired height.
Michael said the speed of the rotation can be adjusted infinitely up to two revolutions a minute; the Sales Spinner can also rotate clockwise or anti-clockwise.
“This is the first one sold in Australia,” Michael said.
“It seems fitting that it was a country dealer who bought it off a country manufacturer.”
Access Innovations is probably best known for its award-winning grader and dozer access safety systems.
The company was a Queensland Export Awards finalist in 2016 and won the 2002 Workplace Health and Safety Premier’s Award.
“We have put all our mining safety technology (into the Spinner) and it is engineer certified,” Michael said.
It has four electric and one manual safety interlocks, and is rated to operate to 150km/h winds with straps applied.
Michael said dealers could add their own sales messages around the base of the unit, which includes 60 sq m of advertising space.
Ken Mills said he had decided to buy the unit because it was eye-catching and no one else in town was likely to have one.
He planned to shift it between his dealerships in Kingaroy and Mundubbera.
“It was really important to me that it was built locally and will be serviced locally.” he said.
