The Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s next Meet’n’Greet will be hosted by Member for Nanango and Deputy Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington.
The Meet’n’Greet will be held at Mrs Frecklington’s Electorate Office at Shop 2, 36 Alford Street, Kingaroy (in the laneway next to the Asian Gourmet Chinese Restaurant).
Mrs Frecklington will speak about current campaigns she is waging for the Nanango electorate, and give her outlook on what’s happening in State politics.
The other guest speaker will be South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell, who will provide an update on Council activities.
Mayor Campbell handed down the South Burnett Regional Council’s 2017-18 Budget on June 26, delivering a near-CPI rate rise of 2.5 per cent and continuing last year’s thrust of record spending on rural road upgrades.
He is also currently looking at new options to revive the region’s tourism industry, and has initiated a multi-year savings strategy that should produce an $8 million upgrade to Kingaroy’s CBD in 2020, half funded by State and Federal Government grants.
The Mayor will answer questions on these topics, or any others that guests want to raise.
The Meet’n’Greet will be held from 5:15pm on Monday, July 31, and the $10 meeting fee will cover the cost of drinks and nibbles.
To help plan the catering, RSVPs should be made by July 29 to KCCI Secretary Paula Greenwood by email
