Love horses? Want to learn how to draw or paint them? An art workshop for adults and children in Blackbutt on Saturday, July 1 could be the answer.

Well-known professional artist Cary McAulay and Melanie Doheny from Horse Trax Oz are teaming up to provide a unique one-day course that could be the first of its kind in Australia.

Melanie’s horse Mr Ed will be the model students will use, and Carey will provide the tuition.

The workshop is designed for adults and children who love of horses and have a passion for painting.

“Guests will have a hands on approach to learning how to paint and draw all aspects of equine anatomy and gear,” Melanie said.

The two hour workshop will be held at 68 Lorna Court in Blackbutt between 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

The cost of the workshop is $40 per adult, but since it’s school holidays one adult and two children can take part for $50 (children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).

All materials including a sketch book and a blank canvas will be provided, and workshop participants can take their artwork home with them.

Bookings are essential by 5:00pm on Thursday, June 29, and can be made by phoning Melanie on 0417-634-981.
